Connect With God
"Let this mind be in you which
was also in Christ Jesus."
PHILIPPIANS 2:5
PAUSING AT THE CROSS
Our thoughts are far from being God's thoughts. We strive to save our lives; God commands us to give our lives away. We want to exalt ourselves; God instructs us to be humble ourselves. We aim to be first; God tells us to be last. We adamantly defend ourselves; Jesus asks us to turn the other cheek. We cannot think like the world does yet have the mind of Christ. We must allow the Holy Spirit to transform our carnal, self-centered ungodly thinking.
Consider how far you presently are from having a mind like Christ--from His willingness to serve, His passion to be obedient to God to the point of death, His unblemished holiness.
Do you truly want to have the mind of Christ? Are you willing to abandon your current values, prejudices, resentments, jealousies, and unforgiveness? Are you prepared for the Holy Spirit to expose those areas of your thinking that are not in line with Christ's?
May pausing at the cross remove the pride that defies God's right o your life and keeps Him from using you for His glory! It is incredibly freeing to think like Jesus.
