24-Hour Prayer Chain
Our HOURLY PRAYER CHAIN begins from 12 midnight every first Friday of the month.
Prayer is vital if a church wants to see revival, and that is our earnest prayer, that God revive us. What is revival? “Re”….again; “viva”….life. Or to bring something to life again. Revival starts in the individual and then spreads to a church or community. So for our monthly Friday prayer we will this year be focusing on first getting our own hearts and lives in order, on allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to us, to change us, to challenge us, to revive us so we can be an instrument in God's hands to bring revival.
Our focus will be on 2 Chronicles 7:14.
We will take one phrase of this verse each month
and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal his word to us. There will be suggested readings, insights,
encouragement and relevant passages for us to read.
MARCH. “By My Name…"
2 Chronicles 7:14 Amplified Bible.
If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
The people of God. Chosen by God, appointed by God and named by God.
James 2:7 KJV
Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
Worthy means….. Famous, celebrity, dignitary, notable.
Reading: James 2:1-12.
This chapter is a warning to the church about prejudice. James says that our behaviour is very important if we want to bring honour to the name of Jesus. If we have wrong attitudes and actions we bring nothing but shame to the name of the one we follow, the one whose name we bear. We are called Christians - Christ ones, belonging to Christ. May all our behaviour bring only praise and glory to His name, for He is worthy.
Christians are not the most popular people on earth at this present time. There is more persecution of us than there has ever been. In many lands there is a shadow of death hanging over them, but Jesus warned us of this.
Matthew 10:22 KJV
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endures to the end shall be saved.
And we need not fear, because we belong to Jesus, and He will bring us through. Just as God spoke to Israel, he speaks to us today. You can put your name in here…
Isaiah 43:1 KJV
But now thus saith the Lord that created you, (Mary/James), and he that formed you, (People of God), Fear not: for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name; you are mine.
Names of God.
God is given many names in scripture. Let’s look at just a few.
1. El - God. Shaddai - Almighty.God. Shaddai - Almighty.
Genesis 35:11 NLT
Then God said, "I am El-Shaddai-'God Almighty.' Be fruitful and multiply. You will become a great nation, even many nations. Kings will be among your descendants!
There are several meanings of Shaddai. The Almighty. The God who is enough!
He is more than sufficient to meet any need. He is power and provision. In great compassion, He sustains, nourishes and protects me. He takes my weakness and gives me strength. He takes my inadequate resources and in His sufficiency uses them for His great and powerful purposes. He is the All sufficient One, the one Who is more than enough.
Spend a few minutes recalling some of the ways in which God has been your provider?
2. Jehovah - the Lord. Rohi - my Shepherd.the Lord. Rohi - my Shepherd.
A very familiar name. Psalm 23.
Our protector and provider, who leads us beside still waters and to green fields. He knows us intimately and calls us by name.
We praise you Jesus that you are our good Shepherd Who leads us every day of our life.
With this in mind read this passage and thank Him for His care and protection over your life.
Reading: John 10:1-15.
3. Jehovah- the Lord. Rapha - Who Heals
Jehovah- - the Lord. Rapha - Who Heals.
Jehovah- - the Lord. Rapha - Who Heals.
Exodus 15:26. God says to the people of Israel, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”
This promise is conditional and still applies to us today. Healing is promised to us if we are walking with Jesus in obedience. This is a promise not only for healing, but for divine health. This is a promise we can claim in the midst of covid.
Are you struggling with a physical need? Come to Jehovah Rapha and speak His promise over your life.
And finally, God has promised new names to all who overcome, written on us by the hand of God.
Revelation 3:12 KJV
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Revelation 22:4 KJV
And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
Be blessed by these songs. Worship Jesus as you listen.
